Welcome!
Spring 2015
I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be releasing two new books in 2015. The first, New Uses for Old Boyfriends, will hit bookshelves in February:
After growing up in privilege and marrying into money, Lila Alders has gotten used to the good life. But when her happily ever after implodes, Lila must return to Black Dog Bay, the tiny seaside town where she grew up. She’s desperate for a safe haven, but everything has changed over the past ten years. Her family’s fortune is gone—and her mother is in total denial. It’s up to Lila to take care of everything…but she can barely take care of herself.
The former golden girl of Black Dog Bay struggles to reinvent herself by opening a vintage clothing boutique. But even as Lila finds new purpose for outdated dresses and tries to reunite with her ex, she realizes that sometimes it’s too late for old dreams. She’s lost everything she thought she needed but found something—someone—she desperately wants. A boy she hardly noticed has grown up into a man she can’t forget…and a second chance has never felt so much like first love.
This book has something for everyone: mother-daughter bonding, beach houses described in graphic detail, a hot Marine, small-town scandal, vintage Chanel, and the world’s biggest SUV. It’s a story about life’s second chapters and second chances. It’s about hope and forgiveness and unexpected gifts…and hot Marines.
Black Dog Bay is also the setting for my previous book, Cure for the Common Breakup, and you may see a few cameos from old friends amid all-new drama and adventure. You don’t have to read the previous book to enjoy this one, so jump right in with Lila and treat yourself to a virtual beach vacation. In fact, you can start right now—click read the first chapter right here! Click to order from Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and Indie Bound.
I’ll have more details on the next book very soon, but here’s a little tidbit to tide you over: the story involves Black Dog Bay’s “designated rebound guy”, Jake Sorensen (tell him I said hi when you see him in New Uses for Old Boyfriends), a level-headed actuary who’s just in town for the weekend, and some spectacularly bad decisions. My favorite kind!
Happy reading!
(And I confess to being a bit of a slacker about updating my website. If you want up-to-the-minute news about speaking appearances or new releases, please connect with me on Facebook or Twitter.)
